Visiting the shop
Do I need an appointment?
No. At Ópticas del Sur we don't make appointments for any service, including eye tests and contact lens trials. Come whenever suits you during our opening hours.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00–13:00 and 16:30–20:00. Saturdays, 10:30–13:00. Closed on Sundays and public holidays. On some special days, such as 24 December, we open in the morning only. Our hours are the same all year round.
Where can I park?
The surrounding streets are usually full, but there is a large free car park very close by, at Calle Gamonal, 22. Directions to the car park.
Is the shop accessible?
Yes, the shop is wheelchair accessible.
Do you speak English?
Yes, we speak Spanish and English.

Eye tests, glasses and contact lenses
Is the eye test free?
Yes. The eye test is free, needs no appointment and is available to anyone from the age of 6.
How often should I have my eyes tested?
We recommend once a year, even if you can see well: eyesight changes gradually and you often don't notice. Come in sooner if your vision is blurred, you find it hard to read up close or your eyes get tired.
How long do glasses take?
It depends on the lens. Single-vision glasses with lenses from our stock are fitted in our workshop and ready quickly. Varifocals take about 10 days. Contact lenses made to order take 7 to 21 days.
What guarantee do varifocals have?
All our varifocal lenses come with a 60-day adaptation guarantee. 99% of our customers adapt without any problems.
Which brands do you stock?
Frames and sunglasses from 16 brands, such as Ray-Ban, Ralph Lauren, Silhouette, Tous and Oakley, and lenses from Indo, Essilor, Kodak and BBGR. See all our brands.
Do you make prescription sports or swimming glasses?

Grants
Do you take part in Plan VEO?
