Prescription glasses for sport, water and work
If you wear glasses, you don't have to choose between seeing well and playing sport or working safely. At Ópticas del Sur, in Vecindario (Gran Canaria), we have sports glasses, swimming goggles and safety glasses that can be made with your prescription.
Prescription sports sunglasses
There are two ways to add your prescription:
- Direct prescription: the sun lens itself is made to measure with your exact prescription.
- Clip-in insert: an optical clip with your prescription sits on the inside of the frame.
Both options are available with photochromic lenses (they darken in the sun), with a mirrored finish or with traditional high-protection sun lenses.
Glasses for padel and contact sports
These glasses correct your vision and, above all, protect your eyes from knocks. They are suitable for indoor sports such as padel or futsal, and for outdoor sports such as football, tennis, handball or basketball.
Prescription swimming and diving goggles
For swimming, scuba diving and other water sports we have prescription goggles in several colours and styles.
Prescription safety glasses for work
If you have to wear safety glasses at work, we can make them with your prescription. They are industry-certified work glasses, and we have several styles, sizes and colours: come into the shop to see them.

What's the difference between a prescription lens and a clip-in insert?
With a direct prescription, your prescription is built into the sun lens itself. With a clip-in insert, your prescription is in an optical clip that fits on the inside of the frame. In the shop we help you choose based on the sport, the frame and your prescription.
Are the safety glasses certified?
Yes, they are industry-certified work glasses.
